Therapeutic Approach
Research has shown that the relationship you have with your therapist is one of the most important aspects for positive outcomes in therapy. Therefore, my approach is rooted in authenticity with the hope of creating a space where you feel heard, seen, and understood. I don't believe that I have all the answers (as I am just as messy as the next human being), but I believe when we engage in intentional dialogue we can find new ways of looking at things, solutions, and meaning.
I draw inspiration from my history background to create a therapeutic relationship with my clients that is rooted in feminism, postmodernism, and social constructionism. I am a collaborative therapist that believes that everyone has the knowledge and expertise needed to live their own lives authentically. I also utilize experiential and postmodern therapies to support you in exploring your problems, increasing your agency, and strengthening your own preferred self.
